The Casino Cashier at Amber Coast
16 Nov 2006
In an ironic twist to the sad saga of the question of the legality of online casino gambling in the United States, it can be seen that, in fact, so much media attention has boosted publicity for the online casino. Since the Unlawful Internet Gambling Prohibition Act came into effect, the media has been going all out in an attempt to analyze, predict and comment on the future of online casinos in the country.
Most people who enjoyed playing at the online casino before the act was signed did so happily. Although not many online casinos aggressively advertised in mainstream US media, anybody who was thinking of gambling could simply do a search on the internet and find online casino sites to play at. Those people, who didn’t actively seek the online casino to gamble at, obviously weren’t drawn to the pastime and did other things for fun. However, with all the media hype surrounding the future of online casinos, the average man in the street couldn’t help having his interest piqued.
Open any newspaper today, or watch any news channel and you will see at least one column or news feature dedicated to the online casino. It seems ironic that the very people who wanted to wipe the online casino from the face of the United States are responsible for bringing it so much into the forefront of our everyday lives and, in essence, providing free advertising for the internet gambling industry.
