The Casino Cashier at Amber Coast
9 Nov 2006
Ryanair, the low cost airline, has decided to bring the fun of online casino gaming to its passengers. Currently, the airline is locked in the middle of a bid for fellow Irish airline Air Lingus, for the chance to form an online casino gaming partnership with an online casinos bingo operator. The deal would allow passengers to play bingo, as well as instant win games while booking their flights, car rentals, and hotels on its website.
Regarding in-flight online casino gaming, CEO Michael O’Leary told a press conference that the airline hoped to offer this service by the middle of 2007, which would be accessible via mobile phones or through bespoke onboard terminals. By January, the airline hopes to receive approval for mobile phone enabling technology on aircraft. The airline also wants these online casino offerings to include full service ready for piloting by June or July.
The CEO continued to explain that Ryanair expected income from ancillary services as a whole to grow by 20 percent a year over the next fiver years. O’Leary did not disclose any revenue forecasts for the new service. Ancillary services currently make up about a fifth of the airline’s total revenues. So next time you take to the skies, think about playing at the online casino and the fun and excitement you can experience while flying over the open seas. You’ll definitely have the best flight you’ve ever had, and who knows? You just might hit it big at the online casino!
